Orlando Pirates head coach Josef Zinnbauer has hinted at some wholesome changes to his side as they go in search of that all-important win in Morocco this weekend.
The Buccaneers will feel disappointed by their lack of cutting edge in the first leg that saw Raja Casablanca walk away with the advantage, having scored a vital away goal at the Orlando Stadium on Sunday.
Pirates will have to better their 1-1 result from the first leg if they are to progress beyond the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederations Cup, which could see Zinnbauer make a number of changes for the second leg.
Pirates were without seven of their first team regulars including captain Happy Jele and goalkeeper Richard Ofori who have been nursing their respective injuries for the first leg.
But the German coach has hinted that these – and other players, could return to the Pirates starting XI in Casablanca this Sunday.
“I know (Richard) Ofori we have to test; I know he was on the bench. We have to test this week and see how he can work. We have a long week, it’s the first time for a long time ago and (Thembinkosi) Lorch also, and the other players also Happy (Jele), we also have (Terrence) Dzvukamanja there is a long, long list of players out but maybe we have a chance that they can come back next week,” Zinnbauer told the media.
Pirates will have their work cut out for them when they travel to the Stade Mohammed V Stadium, a place Raja have turned into a fortress in the last few seasons, as they look to progress to the semi-final of the competition for the first time in eight years, after reaching the final in 2013.
