Orlando Pirates have received a boost ahead of their next match, following the return of one of the team’s star players.
In their previous two matches, against Mamelodi Sundowns and Cape Town City respectively, the Buccaneers were without midfielder Ben Motshwari who was suspended by the Soweto giants.
After featuring in the 3-1 win over Chippa United last month, Motshwari was suspended by Bucs after he handed himself over to police on the morning of September 20.
It turned out that the 30-year-old Randfontein-born player had a case of common assault opened against him after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend. It later emerged that the case was struck off the court roll due to a lack of evidence.
Pirates confirmed that the central midfielder would remain suspended, pending the investigation.
After the legal processes were followed, and with the case struck off the court roll, the former Bidvest Wits player has returned to training as he works on regaining his place in the team under coaches Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids, a source confirmed to the Siya crew.
Bucs are scheduled to take on Congolese side, Diables Noirs in their next match in the CAF Confederation Cup on Friday, before visiting Maritzburg United in the Premiership match at the Harry Gwala Stadium on October 20.
