A year after his memorable goal denied Kaizer Chiefs the prestigious Nedbank Cup title, striker Zakhele Lepasa says it still feels unreal about some of his achievements of last season.
It was Lepasa’s goal from the spot kick at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium on 18 May last year that led to the unimaginable while also creating history in South African football, when second tier league side TS Galaxy beat Soweto giants Chiefs in the final of the Nedbank Cup in front of the packed 2010 World Cup venue.
Lepasa was at the Mpumalanga outfit on loan from Orlando Pirates. The 23-year-old went on to win the Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament award at the end of the season, following his impressive performances in the remarkable run for the NFD (now GladAfrica Championship) side.
“A year has passed now and it still feels unreal. God has been great from day one. And with Him, the journey will continue to be great. Here’s to more great things to come,” wrote Lepasa on Twitter in looking back at his achievements.
