Orlando Pirates striker, Tshegofatso Mabasa, has hinted about nearing a return to action after missing the start of the season.
Earlier in the week as the Buccaneers had been preparing for last night’s match against Stellenbosch FC, the club confirmed that Mabasa has been undergoing rehabilitation for the foot injury that derailed his progress.
Before the coaching changes that saw the arrival of Josef Zinnbauer at the Soweto giants last season, Mabasa had been the main man for goals as he was playing regularly, having netted five goals in six league starts.
However, since Zinnbauer’s arrival in December, Mabasa hasn’t been playing regularly as the German coach opted for Gabadinho Mhango as the main striker.
The Malawian international went on to finish the 2019/20 season as the joint leading goalscorer in the league with 16 goals.
Mabasa has hinted that he could soon return to training with the rest of his Bucs teammates as he has been ‘getting stronger by the day’ in his rehabilitation.
