A record-breaking Orlando Pirates starlet has parted ways with the club, the Siya crew has learnt.
After spending some time with Pirates’ feeder team Pele Pele FC in the ABC Motsepe League this season, young midfielder Augustine Mahlonoko has now left the Soweto giants.
In 2018, Mahlonoko made history after he was promoted to Pirates’ first team as a 16-year-old as he became youngest Bucs player to debut in Mzansi’s top-flight in the match against Highlands Park.
The Sebokeng-born player had also been included in the list of top 60 young talents in the world by British publication The Guardian.
However, the 18-year-old failed to get regular game-time at the Buccaneers, which led to him sent to the third tier club to gain more experience.
It is believed that Mahlonoko will be looking for a move to a top-flight club in his next deal.
