Reported Orlando Pirates interest in an international goalkeeper has been dismissed by the player’s current employers.
Having signed French goalkeeper Joris Delle last year, the Buccaneers have now been linked with Rwandan shot-stopper Emery Mvuyekure, with reports suggesting that enquiries have been made into the availability of the 27-year-old, who is currently on the books of Kenyan top-flight club Tusker.

However, speaking to the Siya crew, Tusker chairman, Daniel Aduda said he was unaware of any approaches for the goalkeeper.
“We have not been approached or contacted by anyone about the player,” he said.
The club boss also confirmed that the goalkeeper’s deal will expire at the end of next year, and not this year as some reports suggested.

The Buccaneers’ goalkeeping department has become one of the focal points after what would seem as a disappointing season by their standards, with the team having conceded 26 goals in their 23 league matches so far this season, while the club’s chances of winning the title have diminished as log leaders Kaizer Chiefs and second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns appear to be in a two-horse race.

AmaZulu’s Siyabonga Mbatha, Bidvest Wits’ Brandon Petersen and Richard Ofori from Maritzburg United are the other goalkeepers reportedly linked with the Soweto giants, though Mbatha has since extended his stay at the Durban-based club.
