Orlando Pirates have completed yet another signing, with the club’s plans for the young star revealed to the Siya crew.
While the Buccaneers have confirmed signing Nkosinathi Sibisi from Golden Arrows and Tapelo Xoki from AmaZulu so far, an agreement has been reached for three other players to be added to the club in Bienvenu Eva Nga and young Azola Matrose from Chippa United, as well as Miguel Timm from Marumo Gallants.
As revealed by the Siya crew, Bucs identified Matrose as a transfer target after he emerged as one of the exciting young talents in Mzansi’s topflight this season in the colours of the Chilli Boys.
Sources close to the Soweto giants and Chippa have confirmed that 19-year-old player’s deal is as good as done, though he is likely to be loaned back to the Gqeberha outfit for the new season.
“It’s a done deal, Azola has signed for Pirates. He is a Pirates player now,” confirmed the source.
“The boy signed for Pirates on the same day that Eva Nga also signed with the club. They went there together but Azola is likely to go back to Chippa on a season-long loan deal. He is still young and needs to get more experience at this level and he has got all the time to do so and grow. Chippa return on 20 June for pre-season and for now that’s where the boy is expected to report,” confirmed the source.
Last year, Pirates signed former Chippa youngster Ronaldo Maarman from Cape Town All Stars and loaned him back to the club.
A decision is pending from the Soweto giants about the 22-year-old attacking midfielder’s future, with his season-long loan deal with the Mother City outfit having come to an end after the team’s participation in the promotion/relegation play-offs.
Meanwhile, Bucs are also expected to unveil Evidence Makgopa from Baroka FC, while the club is still linked with Victor Letsoalo from Royal AM among other targets.
