Orlando Pirates head coach Milutin Sredojevic remains optimistic for the team’s chances in the CAF Champions League, despite their loss on the weekend.
The Buccaneers suffered a 1-0 loss to Zambian side Green Eagles in their preliminary round first leg match played at the Nkoloma Stadium on Saturday.
Bucs will have to win the return leg match in Johannesburg on August 23 for a chance to advance to the next stage of the continental competition.
Speaking after the match, Sredojevic said that the Buccaneers dominated on Saturday despite their disappointing loss in the end in Zambia.
“We believe that we have dominated in all the aspects of the game, except one crucial aspect and that is to put the ball in the net. In that regard I will just say that we applied ourselves very well,” said the coach, as quoted on Bucs’ social media platforms.
The Serbian mentor added that Bucs’ chances of advancing to the next round of the competition are realistic as the team will be working on beating the Zambian side at home next week.
