Orlando Pirates might have a chance to replace Justin Shonga with another Zambian striker in Chanda Mushili, if the 23-year-old former Nkwazi FC player will be leaving the club.
Portuguese club CS Maritimo has enquired about the availability of Shonga, as reported by the Siya crew, with the player’s agent Karabo Mathang of P Management saying that the Primeira Liga club would have to approach the Soweto giants directly regarding their interest.
Meanwhile, Shonga’s countryman Chanda Mushili could be offered to Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs, according to the player’s agent Javan Safeli, as reported in edition 1180 of Soccer Laduma.
“The player comes from Zambia and his name is Chanda Mushili. He is a prolific striker. There are teams interested in him, but I have been told about South Africa and I am thinking of bringing him there. I have arranged to talk to Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates about him,” said Safeli.
“He is playing for Buildcon FC and is an attack-minded player. His reactions and composure at goal are exceptional. His aggression and vision are well-defined in any given game situation. He is able to intercept and develop an attack from whichever angle he gets the ball,” he said.
“This is a little description of who Chanda Mushili is for you – very deadly and lethal in front of goal,” the FIFA-accredited agent added.
The 32-year-old forward is currently on the books of Buildcon FC in Zambia.
In their foreign quota for the 2019/20 season, the Buccaneers have three Zambians in Shonga, Augustine Mulenga and Austin Muwowo, with French Goalkeeper Joris Delle taking up the other spot.
