The versatile left-footer, who can play in central defence or in central midfield, was not given a squad number when Orlando Pirates announced their new jersey assignments on the eve of this season.
After spending the last two seasons on loan in the PSL at Ajax Cape Town and Chippa United, the 22-year-old is set for a third season at a temporary home. Having captained South Africa in the recent CHAN tournament fixtures against Lesotho, he attracted loan interest from a number of clubs but it is the Chilli Boys who look to have won the race.
Malepe made 25 appearances in all competitions for Chippa United last season, scoring one goal and providing three assists. His arrival will increase the options at coach Clinton Larsen’s disposal after the recent departure of Zambian midfielder, Donashano Malama to Black Leopards.
