An Orlando Pirates midfielder has become the latest player to be linked with AmaZulu as clubs are expected to reinforce their squads for the second round of the season.
Having struggled for game-time after making only two appearances under co-coaches Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids so far in the 2021/22 campaign, Nkanyiso Zungu is understood to be eyeing a move away from the club even if on loan, and AmaZulu are keen to assist him with that, according to sources in the know.

With the likes of Luvuyo Memela and Augustine Mulenga being some of the top performers for Usuthu, the Durban-based side is keen to lure another top talent from the Buccaneers to strengthen coach Benni McCarthy’s squad.
“Nkanyiso Zungu from Orlando Pirates has attracted interest from AmaZulu. The club is monitoring his situation although they are likely to face competition from Stellenbosch who are also keen on the player’s services,” said the source.

Zungu, 25, started his career at AmaZulu as a youth development player and was promoted to the first team in 2015, before being loaned to Jomo Cosmos in January 2018 which was followed by a move to Stellenbosch FC.
Speaking to the media recently, Ncikazi cited stiff competition in the team’s central midfield as the main reason behind Zungu’s extended absence from Pirates’ line-ups.
