While some might feel that he is one of the underrated players in the group, Linda Mntambo has been chosen as one of the hard working players at Orlando Pirates.
Since joining the Buccaneers in 2018, Figo – as Mntambo is known in football circles – has struggled for regular game-time although he contributes positively to the team whenever given the opportinity.
So far this season, the 30-year-old central midfielder has made five starts in Pirates’ Absa Premiership campaign.
Solomon Mathe – a former Pirates midfielder himself during the prime of his career – has lauded the ex-Black Poison FC player for his progress and contribution at the Soweto giants.
“Linda is one of the hard working players at Pirates. When you have him on the field you know he is going to do the job. He is a player who is suitable to play against teams with players that like to run. When you have Linda you know that he is going to run. He is different to a player like Xola Mlambo. He is a box-to-box player who can also attack and defend. He gives 100% and likes to be in the box and has a knack of scoring. He is aggressive!” Mathe told the Siya
