Orlando Pirates have confirmed the team’s latest starting line-up for the eagerly-awaited cup match against Kaizer Chiefs, which has been scheduled for later this month.
The Buccaneers will play against Amakhosi in the Carling Black Label Cup at FNB Stadium on July 27.
In their latest starting XI, as voted for by the club’s fans as per competition rules, Bucs have two players who did not play a single minute for coach Milutin Sredojevic’s team during the 2018/19 season in goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo and defender Justice Chabalala.
“The Carling Black Label Cup is around the corner and the closing date for entries is fast approaching. Supporters have been putting their names behind the players they want to see take to the field on July 27, where the Mighty Buccaneers will take on their perennial rivals Kaizer Chiefs,” Pirates stated on the club’s official website.
Striker Justin Shonga is leading as the Bucs player voted for the most, and is closely followed by countryman and fellow striker Augustine Mulenga in second place.
“As it stands the line-up sees Justin Shonga with the most votes from the Ghost. The Zambian international has amassed 43000 votes to date, followed by his countryman Augustine Mulenga on 35000,” confirmed the club.
“The current line-up is as follows: Khuzwayo, Maela, Jele, Chabalala, Dube, Motshwari, Memela, Pule, Lorch, Mulenga, Shonga,” as confirmed by the club.
Bucs have a number of new signings who the fans can also vote for. Bucs’ signings, as officially confirmed by the club, are Joris Delle, Bongani Sam, Fortune Makaringe, Siphesihle Ndlovu, Tshegofatso Mabasa, Gabadinho Mhango, Kabelo Dlamini and Tebogo Tlolane. Zakhele Lepasa has returned to the club after finishing the previous season on loan with TS Galaxy in the National First Division.
