Having already confirmed signing Thulani Hlatshwayo, Deon Hotto, Terrence Dzvukamanja and Collins Makgaka, Orlando Pirates are believed to be interested in another quality player with a view of further strengthening coach Josef Zinnbauer’s squad.
As reported in edition 1192 of Soccer Laduma, the Buccaneers have enquired into the availability of Mokete Mogaila, according to sources.
Mogaila, 25, has been one of Highlands Park’s most influential players over the last two seasons, and according to sources, the winger has been identified as a possible signing for Bucs who are expected to make more additions to the squad with the aim of assembling a squad that will compete both on the domestic front and on the African continent.
After being linked with Kaizer Chiefs in January, Bucs are believed to have enquired into Mogaila’s availability now that the Lions of the North have been sold to TS Galaxy boss Tim Sukazi.
“Orlando Pirates is interested in Mokete Mogaila, but he is still under contract with Highlands Park. There have been enquiries,” said the source.
The source has confirmed that Mogaila had two years left to run on his contract at the time that the club was sold and it now remains to be seen if he does relocate with the club to Mpumalanga or if he moves elsewhere as some of his former teammates have.
