Heartfelt Advice To Pirates’ Mosele After Latest AWOL Reports

Orlando Pirates midfielder Goodman Mosele’s mentor has come out to offer advice to the star as he appears to be experiencing some challenges in his career.

As reported in edition 1252 of Soccer Laduma, Mosele went AWOL again, just before the team’s league match last Wednesday against Stellenbosch FC, as confirmed by sources close to the Soweto giants.

It is believed that Mosele disappeared two days before the match, and the reasons for his latest disappearing act are not known as yet, though the Siya crew did reach out to the Buccaneers for comment but the club has still not offered a response up to this stage.

It is the second time that the 22-year-old former Baroka FC player has disappeared, as he pulled a similar stunt in October after failing to show up for his Bafana Bafana call-up by coach Hugo Broos and did not give any explanation for not honouring the call-up.

Mosele’s mentor – former SuperSport United midfielder Richard Rantjie who coached the Bucs star as a youngster at amateur club Stilfontein Real Hearts before his rise to the professional ranks – is saddened by the concerning reports of the talented player going AWOL.

“Ja, eish, I haven’t spoken to him in a long time now and I don’t know what he has been up to. But I’m not happy to hear the things I hear about him although I don’t know what he must be going through but the whole thing is disappointing. It’s so disappointing for the kids in our team who are looking up to him. If there are any issues, I guess the best thing to do is to open up to people around you so that you can get help whenever you need it, and it doesn’t help to hide things that are bothering you. If something is bothering him and people around him knew about it, they would have helped him to deal with it in a better way,” said Rantjie.
