The two players responsible for putting Chiefs to the sword this time around, Siphesihle Ndlovu and Thembinkosi Lorch, have given fans insight into the meticulous planning that went into Saturday’s victory.
“I’m very happy that we managed to grab the whole three points and I’m also very happy that I scored in the derby. As a collective we worked so hard, we worked for each other and covered all the spaces for each other. I think teamwork today was the best thing that made us get the victory,” Ndlovu told Pirates’ media department after the game.

Meanwhile Lorch, who has netted for a second time against Chiefs this season, has credited the win to the hard work put in by coach Josef Zinnbauer in identifying their opponents’ weaknesses.
“I think the goal came from training because we have been practicing to get behind them because we know they are slow and it motivated us to see a Gusheshe at our home stadium. It started from outside (training) then we brought it to the field,” Lorch added.
