Orlando Pirates are expected to further strengthen their squad before the transfer window deadline at the end of the month, with a Nigerian defender closing in on a move to the Soweto giants.
For over a month, the Buccaneers have had Nigerian defender Olisa Ndah training with the team, and as reported by the Siya crew, the 23-year-old is believed to have done well during his assessment and has impressed the technical team with his work-rate.
In the latest edition of Soccer Laduma, issue 1238, it has been revealed by sources in the know that Pirates are believed to have offered the highly-rated centre-back a three-year deal with a view of adding him to the current squad.
“Olisa Ndah has done well at Pirates and the club is keen to sign him. He is a hardworking young player who can add value at the club,” said a source.
“The player is excited about being at the club and would like to play for the team. From his side, everything went well, and he is waiting for the club to finalise. A three-year deal has been discussed, and soon he will know if he will be playing for the team, depending on the negotiations,” the source added.
In the three matches that they have played so far this season, Pirates have conceded four goals, after losing 2-1 against Swallows FC in the MTN8 and their subsequent 2-2 draw in the league against Stellenbosch FC, before playing a 0-0 draw against Marumo Gallants on Tuesday.
Depending on the negotiations with Ndah’s current club in the Nigeria Professional Football League, Akwa United, Pirates could be set to announce the player’s signing in the coming days.
