Orlando Pirates have been encouraged to sign Thulani ‘Tyson’ Hlatshwayo from Bidvest Wits to strengthen the team’s defence.
The Wits and Bafana Bafana defender has been a top target for the Buccaneers, and as recently reported by the Siya crew, the experienced player is now also on the radar of defending league champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

“The boy is a very good player and he can fit in the system of Pirates. In fact, he can be a solution to Pirates’ defensive worries. He can play there,” former Pirates midfielder Hleza Mofedi told the Siya crew.
A potential move to Pirates for Hlashwayo before the start of this 2019/20 season hit a snag after Wits offered him an improved contract.

The Bafana international’s deal with the Storrock Park club is set to run until at least June 2022, unless the Soweto giants would attempt to buy the 30-year-old out of the deal.
“I don’t know how Pirates can get him if he still has a contract (at Wits), because small teams can be reluctant to part ways with their players to big clubs. Maybe it’s something that can be discussed. Pirates need him because they are leaking and lacking at the back. Let’s see if Pirates can try and get him out of his contract,” Mofedi added.
