An Orlando Pirates defender has made a bold claim about the club’s DStv Premiership title aspirations despite the inconsistent results by the team so far this season.
The Buccaneers are finalising their preparations for the match against Golden Arrows in what would be Mandla Ncikazi’s first visit to the KwaZulu-Natal outfit since leaving them as their head coach.

With only three wins from 10 matches and sitting in 7th place on the log, Bucs know the importance of having to win Saturday’s match to keep the hopes of improving their season alive, though defender Olisa Ndah believes that they can still win the league despite currently trailing leaders Mamelodi Sundowns by 11 points.
“The league has good players. It’s pacey, and quite tactical. So yeah, I think the standard is good. It hasn’t been that tough to adapt. From the way the coaches want us to play, to how the rest of the teams play. It hasn’t been really that difficult for me,” said the Nigerian, speaking to Pirates’ official website.

Talking about the Abafana Bes’thende clash, Ndah has revealed how Pirates could approach the match although he admits to not knowing much about the opponents at the moment.
“I don’t know much about them. From what I’ve seen I think they’ll try and counter-attack, as well as build from the back. On our side, we can use our high press, because it’s been working for us. I’m always looking to improve for the benefit of the Club. We need silverware or something, because it’s been a while. We have to challenge for the league, we need to start from this weekend and start stringing together some good results,” the 23-year-old concluded.
