Thembinkosi Lorch has been applauded for his contribution at Orlando Pirates, following his return to the team in Tuesday night’s match against Baroka FC.
Lorch came on at the start of the second half as the Buccaneers drew 1-1 with Bakgaga at the Emirates Airline Park last night.
The 27-year-old missed the first two matches for Bucs after the restart of the league, against Mamelodi Sundowns and Bidvest Wits. The player was suspended by the club due to a breach of the team’s protocols.
Lorch has been commended by Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer for his contribution, although the German mentor appears to have doubts about his fitness levels.
“He is important for us but his level has a question mark and we decided that (he would be) sitting on the bench and we brought him in. The quality is good. Lorch is a top player not (only) in our team, I think in the whole league. We have him and we will use his quality in the next games,” the coach told the media in a virtual press conference.
As confirmed by Pirates before the match, while Lorch has returned to the team after the finalisation of the disciplinary proceedings, Justin Shonga remains suspended as he awaits the outcome of the process.
