Orlando Pirates have already bolstered their side substantially this window with players from around the world, and now there’s an update on Bradley Grobler…
Pirates have signed the likes of Gabadinho Mhango, Fortune Makaringe, Austin Muwowo as well as several others in an effort to bring to an end their lengthy barren streak.
The Siya crew previously reported that the Buccaneers were keen on bringing Grobler into the club for the new season as another string to their strong attacking bow, but it appears that their attempts have been unsuccessful.
Pirates and SuperSport United have already done a couple of deals this window after Kuda Mahachi and Thamsanqa Gabuza joined Matsatsantsa last month, but Grobler – it seems – will not be crossing the floor.
Speaking to the crew this week, SuperSport’s CEO, Stan Matthews, confirmed that Grobler will not be sold to the Buccaneers as they look for him to form a partnership with Gabuza in Tshwane next season.
Matthews said, “We don’t want to sell any more of our players, and Bradley will not be going to Orlando Pirates. He’s a valuable member of our team and we have no intentions of selling him.”
Grobler, who is known to be happy at the club, is currently undergoing preseason with Kaitano Tembo’s side and will be looking to hit the ground running when the 2019/20 season gets underway.
