It was reported by this website on Tuesday morning that the midfielder had stopped training with the Buccaneers and that his departure was imminent.
Pirates confirmed the mutual termination of Mlambo’s contract later that day, and it is now understood the player has multiple offers to consider.
The Siya crew has reported before that Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns have previously shown an interest in signing Mlambo, but Amakhosi are still being restricted by the FIFA ban as they await an outcome from the Court of Arbitration for Sport on whether the sanction will be overturned or upheld.
AmaZulu are understood to have also thrown their name in the hat along with Baroka FC, meaning Mlambo is not short of suitors.

It was reported by the Siya crew on Thursday that Sundowns are expected to trim down the squad size and that may very well open the door for the ex-Pirates star, who worked with joint head coach Rulani Mokwena during his stint with the Buccaneers.
SuperSport United and Cape Town City’s names have also been bandied about and linked with a player who is free to join at club of his choice and is not restricted by the current transfer window, which slams shut at the end of November.
