In line with one of the phrases that came into existence during Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic’s time as the head coach of Orlando Pirates, midfielder Mark ‘Professor’ Mayambela has used the same expression in referring to the Buccaneers’ supporters.
Mayambela, who is currently a free agent after parting ways with Cape Town City in January, spent three years with the Soweto giants and had his best season at Pirates with regards to game time during the 2010/11 campaign.

In a social media post, from which he seems to think of the good old days about Ezimnyama, the 32-year-old Khayelitsha-born player posed a question to the ‘spiritual owners’, as Mzansi is waiting anxiously for the lockdown due the Coronavirus crisis.
“We once made the spiritual owners of this club so proud. I was so glad to be part of it. What are your favorite moments or game of 2010/2011 season?” asked the talented and skilful player.
The 2010/11 season was when Pirates won one of their double-trebles, after clinching the League, Nedbank Cup, MTN 8 trophies.

2010/11 season: 21 league (all substitute appearances), 2 MTN8 substitute appearances
2011/12 season: 2 league starts + 5 substitute appearances, 2 MTN8 substitute appearances
2012/13 season: 1 league (substitute appearance) + 1 Nedbank Cup substitute appearance
