Orlando Pirates striker Tshegofatso Mabasa’s agent Jazzman Mahlakgane has commented on the player’s future with the Soweto giants.
In issue 1257 of Soccer Laduma, the Siya crew reported that Pirates have exercised their option on the player’s contract to keep him at the club beyond the current season.
Having joined the Buccaneers in 2019 from Bloemfontein Celtic on a three-year contract, Mabasa has entered into the last six months of his original deal with Bucs, but because the club had a two-year option to extend the deal, the option has since been exercised.
“Tshegofatso Mabasa is going nowhere as Pirates have taken their option on his contract. It’s true that the player’s original deal was for three years, but the club had an option to extend it for two years, which they have now taken,” said the source.
Asked for a comment on the latest developments, Mahlakgane told the Siya crew, “He is staying with the club. The club had an option and it has been exercised.”
