Orlando Pirates were coy on the details of Deon Hotto’s move to the club following the announcement yesterday, but the Siya crew can confirm the length of his stay.
The Buccaneers ended months of speculation on the now former Bidvest Wits attacker’s future, and indications are that he has put pen to paper on a four-year deal with an option to have it extended by another 12 months.
Hotto was also a target for Mamelodi Sundowns, and it is understood the deal was close until Pirates moved swiftly on their end to conclude talks with the Namibian and got the deal over the line, having him commit to the club until at least June 2025.
It was a double swoop for the Buccaneers with Wits captain Thulani Hlatshwayo also signing for Pirates for the same number of years.
The duo may very well be joined by another former teammate in goalkeeper Brandon Petersen, who has been on the radar of the Buccaneers since his days at Ajax Cape Town.
Other Wits players who have found new clubs since the club was sold in June are Ricardo Goss, Haashim Domingo and Gift Motupa.
The trio have joined Sundowns.
