Following uncertainty over Glen Salmon’s presence in Orlando Pirates reserve team bench, it has been confirmed that the former striker is the new head coach of the side.
At the end of last season, Salmon parted ways with Bidvest Wits, where he had been the Head of Academy for some time.
In joining Pirates’ MultiChoice Diski Challenge team, Salmon has replaced Michael Loftman, who has returned to the senior team as a performance analyst, as confirmed to the Siya crew by sources in the know.
Pirates have had an impressive start to the season after winning both the matches they have played so far in the MDC.
During the first match against AmaZulu at the King Zwelithini Stadium on August 09, coaches Mandla Qhogi and Simon Marange were put in charge of the team as Bucs won 1-0.
Salmon was a noticeable addition to the team’s bench for the second match as Bucs registered a 1-0 victory over Black Leopards at Rand Stadium last Saturday.
Salmon confirmed the appointment with the Siya crew, expressing his delight about the Pirates role.
