A message of encouragement has been sent to Fortune Makaringe after the Orlando Pirates star was recently criticized.
During and after the midweek Absa Premiership match between Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns, Makaringe found himself in trouble with coach Pitso Mosimane, with the mentor disapproving of a piece of skill by the midfielder, as his side led 1-0 in the second half.

There have been different opinions in the football fraternity on whether Mosimane was right or wrong in discouraging Makaringe.
Mlungisi ‘Professor’ Ngubane, who is known for his magic when he has the ball at his feet, has encouraged Makaringe not to change the way he plays.
“Makaringe please don’t change, play your football. Do what you want to do at the right time. We are happy to sit and watch television to see you doing that. The boy was showing them (Sundowns) that this thing of you coming here and do as you please for seven years has come to an end,” Ngubane told the Siya crew.
“We are happy to see the Cape Town City boy (Ralani) turning (Willard) Katsande inside out until he falls on the ground. Players like Neymar do these things and they are being praised,” he added.
“Imagine a team called Abafana Bes’thende but playing the whole game without performing any back heel skills. That’s like the Brazilians playing English style of football. When Makaringe does it, is that a crime? Makaringe and players like him shouldn’t be discouraged by people who are selfish. I prayed throughout after Makaringe’s skill, and after I saw Pitso’s gestures on the touchline, that Pirates should win the game for the boy. Had Sundowns come back, it was going to be an even bigger issue,” Ngubane concluded.
