Former Orlando Pirates defender Tonic Chabalala is hoping for a win for Josef Zinnbauer’s team against SuperSport United.
Pirates will host SuperSport at the Orlando Stadium this evening with their eyes set on moving up the log, after winning their last DStv Premiership match before the FIFA international break against Bloemfontein Celtic.
Chabalala says Pirates should build from their performances against Kaizer Chiefs in the MTN8, after beating their arch-rivals 5-0 on aggregate.
“SuperSport United has been our hoodoo team and they beat us 3-0 in our of the games last season, but according to my observation Pirates is gelling gradually and most importantly the confidence is back in the players. I am a huge believer in confidence in players, because you can be a good player and all that but if you don’t have the confidence there is nothing you can achieve,” Chabalala told the Siya crew.
“Based on the games that Pirates have played against Chiefs, you could see that the confidence was there in the players and Chiefs couldn’t match Pirates. It’s a new team that Pirates have assembled but I like how quickly they are gelling and I’m just hoping that going into the game against SuperSport they will do even better,” added the ex-centre-back.
