In reminiscing on time at Orlando Pirates, Togolese international midfielder Dove Wome feels he could have achieved more with the club.
Wome had a stint with the Buccaneers in 2017, after he surprisingly joined the club on loan from SuperSport United in January that year for the second half of the 2016/17 season.
After a remarkable start at the Soweto giants – having scored two goals from the first three matches he played – things didn’t go as smoothly for him and the team, in what resulted in a disappointing campaign under Swedish coach Kjell Jonevret.
“I had a good time, Pirates is a big club but I feel a little bit sorry because I didn’t play for a long time for the club as I went there for only six months. I did what I had to do but I think I could have done more than that if maybe I had a chance to stay with the club for one year or two,” Wome told the Siya crew.
The 29-year-old is currently back home in Togo and weighing up his options to resume his career after the COVID-19 pandemic.
