An Orlando Pirates defender is facing uncertain future as the club is expected to make crucial squad decisions ahead of the 2019/20 season.
As reported by the Siya crew, Gladwin Shitolo could be set to see his tenure on the books of the Buccaneers come to an end, following his lack of game-time at the club.
As a result of his situation regarding game-time at the Soweto giants, Shitolo finished the 2018/19 season with Chippa United, having been loaned to the Eastern Cape outfit in January.
Indications from sources in the know are that the defender-cum-midfielder could secure a permanent move to the Chilli Boys, where he managed to revive his career under coach Clinton Larsen during the second half of the past season.
“Chippa is keen on keeping Shitolo on a permanent deal. The player has done well at the club during his stay and the coach likes having him in the team. Chippa is waiting on Pirates to finalise with their plans and don’t be surprised if you see more players move between the two clubs during the transfer window,” said the source.
Shitolo has been on the books of Pirates for the last five years, since joining the club from Jomo Cosmos in 2014, however, the 29-year-old has had different loans spells with other clubs, including Platinum Stars and Golden Arrows as he struggled to command a regular place in Bucs’ starting line-ups.
