A lot has been said in the last few weeks regarding the future of Orlando Pirates defender Justice Chabalala, who is on loan at Bloemfontein Celtic, and his agent has set the record straight on where the player is expected to be playing next season.
Chabalala was loaned to Siwelele in January, after he struggled for game time at the Buccaneers, and while the Mangaung-based outfit is believed to be interested in retaining his services on a permanent deal, the move is unlikely to happen.
With the 28-year-old centre-back’s contract with Pirates is expected to expire in June next year, his handlers have confirmed that the Giyani-born player will be going back to the Soweto giants at the end of the current season.
Called for comment, Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi of Rush Hour Sports Management, told the Siya crew, “It is true that there is interest in Justice Chabalala from a number of PSL (Absa Premiership) clubs, and one of them is a Gauteng-based club. But our plan with Justice was for him to go to Celtic and play, and we are delighted that things are happening the way we planned.
“Regarding the future, the first and last option for Justice Chabalala is Orlando Pirates. As far as I am concerned, Justice Chabalala will retire at Orlando Pirates, unless the club decides otherwise. You know what they say, once a Pirate, always a Pirate. We are not entertaining any sort of interest from any club regarding the player’s services,” the representative added.
Do you think that Chabalala can add value to the Pirates set-up next season?
