The agent of Orlando Pirates midfielder Collins Makgaka is confident of the player’s stay despite him being linked with an exit from the club.
Makgaka made just four appearances in Pirates’ 2020/21 DStv Premiership campaign which were all as a substitute.
The 24-year-old joined the Buccaneers in September on a three-year contract after parting ways with Baroka FC at the expiry of his deal.
Despite the player’s lack of regular game-time under Josef Zinnbauer, his representative Kieran Brown is confident of his stay amid reports linking him with a move away on loan.
“He wasn’t given the opportunity that maybe he should have. That being said, he was 100% committed in pushing for that squad place and in pushing for a starting place in the squad. He’s still 100% committed even now,” said Brown, speaking to the Siya crew.
“He’s been a Pirates fan all of his life, this is his boyhood club. He’s really determined to succeed in that Pirates shirt. I think that determination that the fans will see next season. I know the fans haven’t seen much of him, but hopefully next season he will get the chance that we had hoped that he would get,” he said.
Makgaka is facing strong competition from the likes of Thabang Monare, Fortune Makaringe, Nkanyiso Zungu and Linda Mntambo for a place in Pirates midfield.
