Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids know how crucial the match will be for the Buccaneers to pick up points to please the management and supporters, following the disappointing 2-1 loss against Kaizer Chiefs in their previous match.
With Siyabonga Mpotshane likely to retain his place in goals as the team’s other experienced goalkeepers have been recovering from injuries, former Pirates defender Lizo Mjempu expects to see the 35-year-old between the sticks, while he has also selected the other 10 players he would like to see in front of the veteran shot-stoper which are in the gallery above.
“Orlando Pirates players know what is at stake and don’t need to be reminded about it going into this weekend’s game. They are going there wanting to win, and that I can tell you now. Even in the derby in the previous match, I don’t think they went there not wanting to win and I don’t think they play badly. They wanted to win, and they played well and were just unfortunate that they lost through their own mistakes. Football is like that, and you lose as a team through your own mistakes. I am expecting a very entertaining match against Golden Arrows because Arrows is one of the teams that play the kind of South African football that we all know and love,” Mjempu told the Siya crew.
