Mamelodi Sundowns confirmed on Tuesday that they have parted ways with Oupa Manyisa after the club opted against exercising the added option on his deal.

The 31-year-old joined Mamelodi Sundowns from Orlando Pirates back in 2017 though struggled for regular game-time with the Brazilians and injury setbacks made it more difficult for him to break into the starting line-up.

“Oupa 'Ace' Manyisa and Mamelodi Sundowns Part Ways. The relationship between Mamelodi Sundowns and Oupa Manyisa has come to an end after the club elected not to exercise its option for an extension,” the Brazilians confirmed on their official website on Tuesday evening.
The midfielder has since taken to his official Twitter account to open up about his departure.

“My time with the Masandawana family has come to an end. 3 years filled with amazing memories, 2 league titles, a Telkom Knockout Cup and most importantly I got to make friends that will be forever. Thank you to the chairman Dr Motsepe, Coach Pitso and all the support staff for believing in me and giving me an opportunity of a lifetime. To all the supporters thank you for taking me in as your own and for all the love. Lastly, thank you to my teammates and brothers. I will miss you guys. For one last time Ka Bo Yellow,” he said.
