Former Mamelodi Sundowns and current Al Ahly coach, Pitso Mosimane, has reached out to a South African official in Cairo about meeting up with him in what should not only be a reunion but the flying of Mzansi's flag on the big stage.
Following his appointment as the Head of Operations and Media at the Confederation of African Football (CAF), having recently left his position as the Media Manager at the Premier Soccer League (PSL), Luxolo September flew out to Egypt this week to begin life in his new role in Cairo.

Speaking to the Siya crew, the Tsomo-born football administrator confirmed that he has received an invitation from Mosimane to meet up with him and fellow South Africans who are part of his technical team at the Egyptian giants once he has settled in Cairo.
“Coach Pitso has reached out to me already. It’s great, man, because coach Pitso is a great coach and a restless soul like me and is serious about life. We’ve always had a very good relationship with him. I think now that we’re going to be sharing the same street; we are going to know each other more (laughs). He’s reached out already to me to say that once I settle, they are going to have dinner with me,” confirmed September.

“Obviously, I’m looking forward to that period. I mean, I think he has opened a way for African coaches, and not South African coaches to be recognised and work at top clubs. I also hope that in my small way I can open the doors for a lot of people in my generation,” he said.
Mosimane has former AmaZulu coach Cavin Johnson, as well as Musi Matlaba and Kabelo Rangoaga whom he worked with at Sundowns, forming part of his technical team at Al Ahly.
