South African attacking sensation Percy Tau has officially joined reigning CAF Champions League winners Al Ahly.
The 27-year-old will reunite with Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns mentor has made no secret of his desire to bring Tau to the Egyptian capital, revealing that the player ‘has not played football in four years’ and that he would like to offer him the opportunity to become ‘the king of the continent’.
The move is Tau’s fourth loan spell since joining Brighton from Sundowns in 2018, with loan moves to Royal Union Saint-Gilloise, Club Brugge and Anderlecht, before a six-month period under Graham Potter at Brighton and Hove Albion, thanks to relaxed work permit regulations.
Tau is set to link up with his former Sundowns teammate Luis Miquissone, who has agreed a move to the Red Eagles from Tanzanian outfit Simba SC.
