Orlando Pirates’ caretaker coach Rulani Mokwena believes Happy Jele’s absence wasn’t felt by the team on Saturday.
The veteran defender missed the match against Stellenbosch FC as he was serving his one-match suspension after picking four yellow cards this season.
“We are Pirates and we don’t miss anybody. We go on and we don’t complain. We have to just keep soldiering on. We love all our players. We support all our players,” Mokwena told the media.
The coach was pleased with how Ntsikelelo Nyauza and Alfred Ndengane performed in central defence.
“They did the best that they could. The entire team did well. They fought hard. Not just the centre-back pairing but everybody gave the best that they could and that’s the least that we ask from our players. If they give the best and they do their best we congratulate them and we congratulate the opponent if you give your best and still lose the game,” Mokwena added.
