Orlando Pirates’ decision on a new player who is likely to join the team as part of the preparations for next season is imminent, according to sources close to the club.
In the last three weeks, Pirates have had goalkeeper King Ndlovu training with the team, this after the 28-year-old had his contract with his previous club Black Leopards terminated.
After being linked with the likes of SuperSport United goalkeeper Ronwen Williams and Siyabonga Mbatha of AmaZulu among other players, it seems that it will be Ndlovu that the Buccaneers will sign first to bolster their goalkeeping department for the 2021/22 season.
“King Ndlovu is still at Pirates and is training with the team and is happy about being at the club. The club is taking good care of him, he stays in an accommodation organised by the club and is getting paid a stipend. Everything looks promising and the talks of him getting a contract will resume after the last game of the season. The club wants to finish with the season and then focus on issues involving contracts and so on,” said a source.
Baroka FC and Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila will be the last two opponents of the season for Bucs on Wednesday and Saturday respectively.
