Orlando Pirates winger Austin Muwowo’s agent has sent a message to the 24-year-old to encourage him in his current unfortunate situation.
The Zambian is struggling for game-time at the Buccaneers after making only one league substitute appearance so far this season.
The former Zambian Footballer of the Year was an unused substitute in Josef Zinnbauer’s team in Tuesday’s 2-0 loss against Golden Arrows.
Muwowo is facing tough competition from stars like Thembinkosi Lorch, Vincent Pule and Deon Hotto who are ahead in Zinnbauer’s selection order.
As reported in edition 1198 of Soccer Laduma in November, Muwowo’s representative Nawa Nyambe confirmed unsuccessful attempts to send the player on loan prior to the start of the 2020/21 season.
With the talented player still not getting a run in Zinnbauer’s team, indications are that he is likely to be unavailable for a move in the current transfer window, with sources confirming that the Soweto giants are giving him enough chance to fight for his place in the second of his four-year contract with the club.
Speaking to the Siya crew, Nyambe encouraged Muwowo to keep working hard in training to impress the German coach and the rest of the Bucs technical team.
“Look, he is working hard, and I encourage him to continue working hard because he is a young boy and his future is bright. The most important thing for him right now is to keep working hard,” said the intermediary.
“He is a talented player and I think the only challenge for him right now is to get a lot of minutes on the field under his belt because it will be difficult for him to get a national team call-up without playing for his club. Once he gets the minutes, he will have a chance to be called to the national team,” he added.
