Kaizer Chiefs should consider extending the contract of Lebogang Manyama soon, according to a former AmaKhosi player.
As reported by the Siya crew, there has been talk of a potential new deal for Manyama at Amakhosi, which could come as a reward for his form this season.
It is believed that the club could offer the attacker a new long-term deal, despite the fact that he still has more than a year on his current contract.
“Lebo is one of the star players at Kaizer Chiefs at the moment and one of the players that I have been impressed with. He has been performing well and I was happy to see him score in the recent Soweto derby against Orlando Pirates. It takes a lot for player to perform that well and even score in such a high profile game like the Soweto derby,” ex-Chiefs midfielder Junior Khanye told the Siya crew.
Manyama missed only match for Amakhosi this season, as he played in 26 of the team’s 27 in all competitions before the PSL break.
“Having said that, I still believe that the boy is not yet at the level he was at Cape Town City and can still improve. But make no mistake he is a talented and top player. He is a player that Chiefs should do everything in their power to hold on to. They can’t afford to lose a quality player like Lebo. I believe that there’s still a lot to come from him for Chiefs,” Khanye added.
