Kaizer Chiefs’ goalkeeper coach Lee Baxter has been lauded for his knowledge and understanding of goalkeeping amid the controversy he recently found himself involved in.
There have been mixed reactions in the football fraternity on how Baxter handled the Njabulo Ngcobo situation after the defender ignored a handshake from Chiefs’ interim coach Arthur Zwane after being substituted against Golden Arrows on the weekend.

Baxter followed Ngcobo as he was making his way out of the field and grabbed him to get his attention but was also ignored as the centre-back forcefully pulled away and was visibly displeased with being substituted.
Chiefs have since issued a statement confirming that Ngcobo has apologised to Zwane and co-coach Dillon Sheppard, Baxter, teammates, as well as the club management and the supporters for his actions.

Meanwhile, former Chiefs goalkeeper Brilliant Khuzwayo has lauded Baxter for his knowledge of the game and the qualifications he has acquired along the way.
“Did you guys know that the only goalkeeper coach who has a FIFA Goalkeeper License Masters in the whole PSL is Lee Baxter? The other one who has it was Andrew Sparks who is now at Southampton. The knowledge that those people have on modern goalkeeping is on another level,,” tweeted Khuzwayo.
