A Kaizer Chiefs star, who is ecstatic about the team’s improved results and position on the DStv Premiership log, has explained what brought about the turnaround.
Following a slow start to the season which saw the team sitting in 14th place on the standings after nine games, Gavin Hunt and the team have seen a surge in performances and results in the last three matches from successive wins against AmaZulu, Cape Town City and Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila respectively.
Amakhosi have moved up to seventh on the standings going into their next game on Saturday in the Western Cape against Stellenbosch FC.
Speaking through Chiefs’ media department, defender Philani Zulu credited the turnaround to hard work and teamwork.
‘’Winning all three games in a row really feels good. I mean, looking at how we started off this season compared to now there’s much of a big difference. We were on the bottom of the log in the relegation zone but winning just three games we moved up the table,” said Zulu.
“(It) just goes to show the hard work and put in by the whole team really paid off very well and we are looking to carrying on with the momentum and winning as many games as we can. It looks good and it feels good even amongst the players, even at training the spirit is high, and we don’t want to look back,” added the 28-year-old left-back.
