Clinton Larsen will be assessing his options in search of a new club after parting ways with Polokwane City, following the team’s relegation to the GladAfrica Championship.
Larsen’s future as the head coach of Polokwane has been in doubt, after failing in his attempt to save the club from automatic relegation, following a string of disappointing results by the Limpopo outfit.
Rise and Shine suffered a 3-1 loss to Bidvest Wits at FNB Stadium on Saturday – a result which confirmed their relegation to the second tier league.
Polokwane lost four and drew two from their last six matches of the season, and have picked only two points from a possible 18 in the bio-bubble.
In 17 matches that he has been in charge, Larsen has led Polokwane to only three wins, three draws and 11 losses.
Meanwhile, while a number of changes are taking place in the team in preparation of life in the second tier, veteran midfielder and captain Jabulani Maluleke is expected to lead player exodus at the Limpopo club as a number of stars whose contracts have come to an end are on their way out. Maluleke will be joined by Thabiso Semenya, Edgar Manaka, George Chigova, Bongile Booi and Simphiwe Hlongwane, among other stars on their way out.
