In preparing for next season after surviving relegation on the last day of the 2019/20 campaign, AmaZulu have parted ways with three players, while two more have been added to the squad.
As confirmed by the Durban-based club, Slovakian attacker Milos Lacny, midfielder Jabulani Ncobeni and defender Phumlani Gumede have been released.
“His (Ncobeni) contract has come to an end and we’ve also indicated to him and his representatives that we’re not going to be exercising the option to renew it or intend to negotiate for a further contract,” AmaZulu general manager Lunga Sokhela confirmed, speaking to the media.
As reported, another player on his way out of Usuthu is Thembela Sikhakhane, who is going back to Orlando Pirates after his loan deal expired.
“Mr Milos Lacny also had a contract up to the end of this previous season. We will not be renewing that one. Mr Phumlani Gumede’s contract had an option which we will not be exercising. So, all those players we’d like to thank them for their contribution to the club and we wish them the best of luck going forward,” added Sokhela.
Meanwhile, AmaZulu coach Ayanda Dlamini has promoted two players he previously worked with in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge team in right-back Sphamandla Nene and winger Thami Nombika to the first team.
