Dikwena To Scout In Mafikeng?

Platinum Stars coach, Allan Freese, is considering sending scouts to Mafikeng to have a look at the talent in the table-topping NWU squad.
NWU stormed to the top of the Varsity Football standings with an emphatic 6-0 victory over UCT in front of a packed crowd that would be the envy of many PSL sides in Mafikeng on Monday.
Freese said that although Platinum Stars have not had much involvement with NWU in the past apart from a few friendlies, he is thinking about sending some scouts to see some of the players that are bringing the people out in their numbers.
"It is good to have a wider pool of players to choose from, and I will consider sending scouts to take a look at that team," he said.
Freese said that the crowd that NWU draws for their home games in Mafikeng is very encouraging, although not that surprising.
"Some PSL teams don't even draw crowds that big a crowd, we (Platinum Stars) don't have a good following at all.
"It is not surprising because that is where the students are so it is good that they are supporting their team," he added.
Although the Platinum Stars mentor currently has his hands full at the start of the PSL season, he will be monitoring the talent on offer at NWU who dazzled their faithful fans on Monday with a dominant display against UCT.
Striker Tshenolo Machwisa scored a hat-trick in the 6-0 rout, but the star of the show was playmaker Orebotse Mongae who terorised the UCT defence all night to claim the FNB Man of the Match award.
