Slight Tweaks For NWU
NWU coach Amos Xabanisa has urged his players to score as many goals as possible against UFS-Kovsies on Monday.
Xabanisa is keen to land a home semi-final by overtaking top team UJ, who are only slightly ahead of NWU on goal difference.
“We will go all out to score as many goals as possible, but we also want to ensure that we get the three points,” he said.
This week NWU have been putting their attacking players to work, but Xabanisa says it’s vital that the whole squad is in top form in front of goal.
“We have been looking at some of our mistakes because we have been creating lots of chances but failing to score. They can all score goals, so we’ve been working on that,” he added.
The North-West coach says he plans to make slight tweaks to his squad, but won’t be giving much away.
“We have three players who are sceptical, two of them have the flu, so we hope they will be fit come Monday.
“I will make a few changes here and there. Maybe I will bring one or two new players, but I will maintain the core of the squad who have been playing this season,” he said.
