Madibaz Ace Aims For Title
On-form striker, Lukhanyo Rasmeni, believes NMMU-Madibaz have what it takes to lift the Varsity Football trophy this season.
Rasmeni’s experience and spirited performances during this campaign have made him the team’s go-to man in attack.
The talented forward, who was first deployed as a right-winger, slotted his side’s first goal and provided two assists to spark a 4-0 onslaught against a hapless UFS-Kovsies side earlier this week. Rasmeni believes there’s plenty more where that came from.
“I have a big responsibility for my team because I spearhead the attack. It starts with me because I hold up the play then I turn and find the gaps after laying it off to the midfield.
“They rely on me to perform, so I hope to improve my all-round game and score more goals in the coming games. I’m feeling confident,” Rasmeni said.
The Madibaz host UL in Port Elizabeth next week in a match the forward hopes will spur the team to greater heights when they travel to Pretoria the following week to take on title holders, UP-Tuks.
“We can go all the way! It’s play to win from now on, so it’s all in or nothing. We will look to hammer UL and I aim to get some goals there. If we win witha big score and don’t concede, we can go on to the UP-Tuks game in high spirits,” he added.
The talismanic striker urged the Madibaz supporters to come out in numbers to support their charge for Varsity Football glory when they host UL next Monday.
