NWPL Team Of Round Two

Match day two of the Nigeria Women’s Premier League saw many outstanding players exhibiting their talents for their respective clubs.

The selected players showed a lot of great performances for their respective teams.

Below are the 11 players in Sl10.ng team of the week.

Monica Obot [Edo Queens]

Although eventually beaten by an impressive penalty kick by Ikechukwu Vivian, Obot maintained her coolness. She was very confident in her role, the goal minder looked unbeatable pulling off some great saves to deny COD Ladies' strikers.

Nwogu Chinyere [Confluence Queens]

The overlapping defender demonstrated her flexibility as she enjoyed a great game. She whipped in a brilliant cross that was driven home by Aishat Bello.

Helen Oditte [Martins White Dove]

Helen Oditte enjoyed a consistent performance with her precise runs and energetic display. Her well struck penalty earned her team the share of the spoils.

Esther Elijah [Osun Babes]

Solid in defence, committing well to tackles to discontinue Martins White Doves' attempts to bag three points in Benin City. Elijah proved to be on top form as her side pulled a draw.

Igbinovia Osamudiamen [Ibom Angels]

As reliable as ever the Nigerian international played a major role in Ibom Angels' 1-0, not so thrilling, home win. Igbinovia had a steady performance, demonstrating great strength and stability as well as dominance in the air. 

Elizabeth Zirike [Sunshine Queens]

The midfielder made some key passes together with numerous great tackles as her side grabbed maximum points in Abuja.

Joy Bokiri [Bayelsa Queens]

Maintained her position well, Joy's contribution saw her produce great passes. She netted her second goal of the season.

Rasheedat Ajibade [FC Robo]

Despite the fact that FC Robo crashed to a three-nil loss to Confluence Queens, the starlet clearly dominated the middle of the park with her deft touches and skills. She was unstoppable, but was let down by her strikers.

Francisca Aju [Ibom Angels]

A wonderful display from Francisca was capped with a well-deserved winner against Delta Queens.

Aminat Yakubu [Sunshine Queens]

SL10 player of the round. The former Rivers Angels winger was the tormentor-in-chief as she ran rings round Capital City Dove defenders. She was a revelation and impressed Super Falcons head coach Edwin Okon who was in the stands.

Lola Philips [Confluence Queens]

Lola Philips better known as ‘’Lolly Bright’’, the forward inspired the Confluence Queens to their first league win of the season. She earned, and scored, a spot kick before she set-up Kehinde Ogunleye's strike with a sumptuous delivery from the right.
