Kaizer Chiefs, Cape Umoya United, Cape Town City, Chippa United, Golden Arrows, Bloemfontein Celtic TS Galaxy and Bidvest Wits are all into the hat for Thursday night’s quarter-final draw and will be eagerly awaiting who they will be pitted against.
Given the fact that only Chiefs and Wits have won the tournament before since it began in 2008, there is a good chance still that there could be a new name engraved on the trophy, come the end of this campaign.
There is also still the chance of an upset or two with the National First Division still having two representatives left in Cape Umoya and TS Galaxy, while the Glamour Boys will see this year as a big chance to end what has been the longest trophy drought in the club’s history.
The Premier Soccer League have confirmed that the quarter-final draw will be unseeded, with all eight teams going into the same pot before the games are decided.
