Tau: We Knew How To Play These Games

Mamelodi Sundowns survived the potential banana skin after scoring a 1-0 victory midway in the second half against Cape Town All Stars on Friday.

Match winner Percy Tau knew they had to suss it out the opening minutes and drag the game towards the midway stages with the opponents bound to slow down before slitting the throat.

“It was difficult. They played very well. We knew we were going to get a chance and take it. We just had to take it long, keep it a bit longer so I guess that was the plan,” Tau told SuperSport after the game.

After bowing out in the quarterfinals of the last two editions, the main aim this year is to go all the way and Tau challenges his colleagues to make this a reality.

“We knew they were going to break in the second half because we got a bit of experience. We knew how to play these games, we’ve played a lot of NFD friendlies in the past.

“We’re happy to progress. We’re looking forward to the next game and want to go to the final,” he said.
